Choluteca, Honduras
Situated in southern Honduras between El Salvador and Nicaragua, Choluteca is the fourth largest city in the country, and the only major one on the Pan-American Highway. It’s also considered to be the second hottest city in Honduras after Nacaome. Choluteca is one of the most productive areas of Honduras. The region produces and exports sugar, cantaloupe, watermelon, okra, shrimp, sweet potato, salt, fish, and a few precious metals.
